I'm putting a sewage pump basin in my basement for a bathroom, it has a 4" waste inlet.
Upon excavating for the basin i found where our historical water problem in the basement is coming from. Water is entering the soil under the slab when it rains hard and eventually finds its way to above the slab.
What i would like to do is drill 1/4" holes around the side of the basin at a height between the top of the basin and the side inlet. My theory being that it will let the rainwater in but the waste should theoretically never get high enough to escape out through these holes.
