What is the proper way to trim cap molding that interfere with door?
I'm remodeling a powder room with bead board and a rounded cap molding. The door opens into two short walls and hits the cap molding at about 12 inches into the room. What is the proper way to trim the cap molding. My husband wants to trim off the rounded edge of the cap for the 12 inches and then do a short 45 degree cut. I'm thinking we should just do an angled cut for the entire 12 inches. Any ideas?

Pickup and install a door opening limiter that attaches to one of the hinge bolts. It's adjustable and will stop the door from hitting the molding when opened.
