    Default a yard leveling nightmare

    I have a yard tagat is so unlevel it is like walking up steps.The yard is on a basicly 9o degree angle. where do I start to level this thing. mowing seems to be a impossible task.

    Howdy, consider making stepped contours like farmers do on steep hill sides. Have don this with a roto tiller. Or add ground cover that does not require maintenance.

    A yard that steep will not be much good for entertaining or play, and mowing will be dangerous. I like Timothy's idea, step it up! Because the space on each step may be limited or hard for upkeep, might think about planting for low maintenance.

    Have you thought about having a landscape contractor come in with a hi-lift or bobcat and re-contour the entire yard? You would end up with "land swells" instead of steps. Just a thought, hope it helps.
