Default How to remove plaster from bathroom walls

Hi, sorry if this question has been asked/answered - I am very new to any DIY home projects so I appreciate any assistance!

The house I will be moving into has plaster on the bathroom walls. Old, ugly, textured (swirled) plaster.

How do I remove this without damaging the actual wall? I'm assuming I will need to do something - drywall? - after removing the plaster before I paint or refinish, that's ok. But I don't know how to remove the plaster....

    Thanks!

You demolish it down to the studs. Dirty, dusty and trashy work.

Do you want to DIY? think twice and let somebody else do at least the demo, while you are away shopping.

Dont forget to protect the tub if you are keeping it. But since you'll be going down to the studs, this is a perfect time to replace it.
