Default Frost proof yard hydrant issues

    Hello all,
I just removed a 4 ft Clayton mark yard hydrant due to the valve being bad and leaking out the weep hole. My question is - Is it worth my time to try and rebuild the valve with a rebuild kit or do they typically not last very long?

ok, thanks guys....i will, how ever probably dig up the supply line and install a gate valve so i can just cut it off in the future....or would a stop with waste be better?

I wouldn't do that. If you have a crawl space or basement, then you should be able to get to an above ground section of the pipe. Put in a valve at this point.

You should have a valve at the source, that way you can shut it off if you have a line leak also.
