    Default Crown Molding issues

    Hi,

I have a brick accent wall (rectangle) in my kitchen. Crown molding borders it on all sides. The problem that I am having is that the crown molding is separating / splitting from the wall.
It looks like they placed a flat piece of crown molding / board / wood on the wall first and then secured the top (decorative piece) ontop of the flat piece. I dont see where screws / nails could have been used.

I need to know what is the best way to secure the top piece back to the bottom piece without taking it down and eliminate the gap it is making. I was unable to post pics.

If you would like to see I have pics available.

    Thank you

If you say the crown molding is attached to a board which is attached to the wall, maybe the first board (on the wall) is separating. If that's the case, the solution will be to fasten it better. How? can't tell you w/o seeing it.
