    Question mushroom problem in asphalt driveway

    drive repaved in March. Now have 6 spots in 1 area that are pushing up the asphalt. asphalt co. says it is a mushroom problem. Anyone know how to eliminate the spores so we can patch it?

    If you have mushrooms pushing up from underneath it sounds to me like you did not have the area properly prepared for the asphalt.

    Jack, that could be the reason, but often time the cause of the mushrooms is a condition, like rotten roots, that is bigger than normal preparation for asphalt.

    You first must erradicate the cause of the mushrooms, then repave the area affected.

    or did they use the term mushroom as a descriptive term? Just as one's waist line can 'muffintop' over the belt line.....
