In removing some old siding, have discovered the sillplate is rotting ... any suggestions on repairing a 15-foot section?
Re: Repairing sillplate
i do alot of structural work and have done many many sill replacements. in a nutshell, how easy it is depends on many things. my advice would be to have a few contractors come take a look at it. i've done some that took 1/2 a day and cost $500 and other's that took many days and cost $8,000 - $9,000. does electric or plumbing have to be moved? which way do the floor joists run? is the foundation stone, cinderblock or concrete? is there a slab on the basement floor? is there a basement, crawl space or slab?
