Default Anti freeze smell after turning off shower

We didn't use our upstairs master bath shower for a few months and then began using it again, but when we turn the water off after showering there is a smell of anti-freeze coming from the shower area. It disappears after a 20-30 minutes or so. Does anyone know what might be causing the smell?

Howdy, consider pouring a cup of vinegar into the drain and then 20 minutes later flush the drain with more water and see if smell abates. If oder persists is there access to the drain from below?
To see if the p trap is holding water.
