    Smile Vapor barrier

Looking at removing the drywall from inside walls that are outside walls and reinsulate with bat type roll insulation. Is it necessary to install a plastic barrier over the insulation?

Yes, a barrier must be attached, if the insulation has none.

BTW, what do you have on the exterior walls? do you a house wrap?

It depends where you live. Here in south Texas, the vapor barrier goes on the outside where the temperatures are warmer. If you are in a climate with winter, then the varop barrier goes on the inside.
