Default How to deal with Brom Grass

Hey guys, my neighbor says its called "Brom Grass" not sure if thats what it is for sure, but its wide blade and is growing in I would say circular patches in my front yard. Is there a way to deal with it? The neighbor says he had it too and just tilled the whole yard and started over.

Broom grass. Like used to make sweeping brooms, I guess.
It has hefty root system, either kill with herbicide or dig, maybe both.

I also think you meant broom grass.

there are many ways to deal with it, depending on what you want to achieve.

    Leave it alone is one.

Doing what your neighbor has done is another.

Brome Grass or Bromus is a native prairie grass. RoundUp is very effective at getting rid of it, but frequent mowing will cause your cultured grass to crowd it out.
