Building a wall in the basement
The previous owners of my 6 year old home had a work out room in the basement. There is a 24 foot brick wall that is covered in mirrors. The mirrors are on tracks but they are stuck like chuck with some pretty tough adhesive. My solution is to build a wall with 2X4's on 16" centers about 3" from the mirrors. I will use treated lumber on the 2X4s that I will use on the floor and I will have two vents in the walls to allow for airflow. The top of the wall will open into the floor joist area where there is an unfinished ceiling. Is there anything else I should consider before moving forward with this project? There is no condensation or other moisture issues in the basement.
