Default wood flooring over asbestos tiles

Hi. We want to instal hardwood "floating" floor in our kitchen which has the old asbestos tiles. I've read that it's okay to install ceramic tiles & linoleum over the tiles, but nothing about installing hardwood. Can anyone tell me if this is okay to do? We'll be laying down a pad & then putting the wood floor down.

That works well. As long as you aren't sanding the asbestos tiles into a fine dust, you are OK

By covering the old tiles you will essentially seal them off, very similar to porcelain tiles and vinyl.

If your mind is set on hardwood for the kitchen floor, finish it correctly to protect againt wetness.
