    Default covering a deck

I Have a screened porch with redwood decking for a floor. I would love to cover it with something. Could I use vinyl tiles on the redwood or would I have to put down a plywood sub floor?

Yes, you can do anything you want in your porch.

I would be tempted to leave the redwood.
I've covered decks with indoor/outdoor carpet before.
I would not use vinyl tile outside. A layer of plywood is inviting rot.

What about a nice, large outdoor rug? There are some beautiful ones out there. I, too, would be hesitant to do anything "permanent" like vinyl tiles.

Have you considered a pvc deck cover? They are very nice and have a many choices to pick from and nice trims and moldings. Check out magicdeckinc.com

    Hope that helps

If the existing Redwood is still good why would you want to cover it? Redwood is one of the sweetest looking woods ever grown. Is the wood knotty or clear ?????
