Default How to capture water expelled from the sump pump

Our sump pump expels water every 5 minutes, even when it hasn't rained in a long time. Is there a way we can capture the water to use to water plants instead of letting it continuously flood our yard.

Run the discharge into a barrel or storage tank.

If your sump pump is cycling that often, I suspect it is not discharging far enough from your foundation and the same water is just going around and around! Extend the outlet out farther from the foundation and to a downslope.
