Default New small pond in backyard

    Hi guys,
Our lot has a slight slope and we're going with swiss garden look - stomes, various bushes, grasses etc... There is a spot which screams - pond!... I feel it will be perfect there - we have a lot of birds etcc...
I saw a couple of plastic ponds last year in the stores...
    What do you think?
    Any thoughts, experiences, warnings..?
    Thank you.

A pond is a nice idea, but the maintenance is high. Think "small pool".

Water has to be cleaned, leaves pulled out, filter changed or cleaned, chlorine and other chemicals applied, algea treated, etc.

If you want a fish pond, you will have a completely different set of things to worry about.

Read about it before you invest money and precious time, to make sure it's for you. If it is OK with you, it will be a very pleasant addition to your garden.
