    Question Install Pavers

I am having pavers installed in front of my front porch. They will replace a 10 ft. by 5 ft. slab of concrete. The contractor has written into our contract "Install pavers, sloped a minimum of 2%." What, exactly, does that mean? Thank you.

Slope helps with directing water runoff away from the house. Typical slope is 1/4" per foot, not sure how that equates as a percentage.

    2% = 1/4" drop over 12"

Just a word of caution: pavers are set in sand, and the outer pavers (on the edges) have to be secured in place (with some below grade concrete or some sort of edger) - so they don't "walk".
