    Default Wasteing water

I waste a lot of water/time waiting for hot water to reach my bathroom. My house is a 40 year old ranch on a slab. Is there any cure for this problem?

You could install a recirculating pump at the water heater, a device that keeps pushing hot water around the pipes. But then you might complain that you are wasting energy to keep the water warm at all times.

Considering the price of water (in LA it's less than 1/2 a cent a gallon), letting the water run until warm is the cheapest solution. Some folks collect the cold water in a 5 gallon bucket and reuse it later for things like irrigation.

Agreed may complain about electricity some are really efficient though and have built in timers for first time in morning or evening or whatever.
