    Default Vintage Panel Doors

I know I can do it, I'm just wondering if it's a good idea. Taking out the 2 upper panels, trim opening to make a 'bed' and replace w/ glass. I have an old door thats 1/2 glass but its only 30" x 77" and I need 34" x 80".
I just dont want to destroy the structural integrity of the door or have glass crack due to stress at corners, etc.

I have done this; you use a router with a straight edge guide to cut away the molded edge on one side which retains the panels, then make up a bit of similar molding to retain the glass. You can caulk the glass in (it should be tempered safety glass) and brad in the molding strips.
