Sealing an old floor finish
I just bought a house built around 1910 and the original hardwood floors sat under carpeting for a few decades. I really like the patterns from wear and crazing which have developed over the years. Is there anything I can use to seal the floors without sanding which will reseal them and provide a shine while preserving the cool looking wear? I believe it's got an old varnish on the floor and from what I gather poly and varnish are known to feud. This is my first house and floor work I'm looking into so I'm very new to this. Thanks for any suggestions or warnings/alerts.
