    Question Water Pressure Reducing Valve

I recently had a water pressure reducing valve installed to reduce the city pressure of 110 psi to 65 psi. Occasionly, when I open a hot or cold faucet, I hear a "swishing sound" for about 4 seconds. Is this normal and what causes this sound?

Default Re: Water Pressure Reducing Valve

Howdy, no sound should be heard as the pressure regulator valve only lets the amount of pressure it is set at threw to avoid water heads when sudden water shut offs, like when sprinkler turns off,ls hut off can blow loose the fitting to toilets, sinks or blow the bottom out of the meter. Consider call the installer to have the valve checked.
