Smile HVAC Installation help / cost $$$?

Hi, I am new here and greeting to everyone!

We are planning to fully remodel a 1280 Sq ft DC Row House was built in 1916.

Just want to find out what would be the best price for HVAC Installation including all materials. (We can the dry wall plaster....to help reduce the cost, currently no duct work)

Should the house rewiring first, then HVAC installation?

Lastly, any recommended contractors in the DC area would be greatly appreciated.

For electric and air conditioning work, you need to get estimates from local contractors. At least 3 for each trade.

Folks on this board are located in different parts of the country. Some are even in foreign countries (I don't want to mention names...) and as you know prices for materials and labor vary a lot from place to place.

The best source for contractors is word of mouth. Try to find contractors recommended to you by family, friends, neighbors, associates, etc.

As far as the order, rewire first and possibly upgrade your panel at the same time (if it's less than 100). Then you can do your HVAC.

Yes check the code on panel amperage, 100 amps in mass. if existing, 200 amps if part of a remodel is now required if adding central air. Hvac work will vary greatly on your equipment and finish expectations, if you want a cheap system you can go for budget models, if you want quality equipment with quality installation it will be more costly. Good Luck!

Funny -- never considered us foreinors but I guess we are.
You're correct -- prices will vary from region to region.

By the sounds of it you may have to do some wiring up grade for the new HVAC anyway.
Also , it can be advantageous to do both around the same time since the wires can be run in some of the same chases or bulkheads the ducting run in.This makes things easier for the rewire.
