    Default What color to choose

I have a very small home that needs a paint job. I never know what color to choose. Can anyone give me some advice on colors that will make this small home look not so small?

Don't they have the color "bigger house"? I'm pretty sure it's one of the Behr colors.

Lighter colors are less claustrophobic than dark, so stick with lighter shades. Having said that, there is no cure for a small house except an addition or getting a bigger house.

Contact interior designers, they work for living and they can make any small house look twice as big.

Besides light colors, proper lighting that minimizes shadows can help, too.

I have a very small house as well, many of my walls are a dark, chocolate brown, and it didn't necessarily make my house look smaller. If I could have done it over, I wouldn't have used such a dark paint. A lighter shade will help reflect light in the room, which will make it feel bigger. And you won't feel like you are living in a cave! Brown is my favorite color, so in my next home I may just accent a room with chocolate brown instead of drowned it.

A good paint job will actually make your room about 8 mils narrower

    Sorry Spruce,

Behr was never a product of Canukistan. It was founded in 1947 in Pasadena, California. It is now a part of Masco Corp. of Michigan.
