    Default Sewer smell in basement help

    I had a wax ring on my toilet go and the water had pored into a crawl space where it is just dirt as the floor this area is open to my basement for heat so the pipes dont freeze now my entire basement stinks i have tried bleach and powdered lime but the smell still comes back anyone have any other ideas

    Did you replace your wax ring with a heavy duty flanged type?

    If not, do so and report back.

    its been fixed im sure it smells because of the dirt

    Who fixed it? you or a plumber? You need the beefed up wax ring to assure the best seal.

    the plumber replaced the ring with 2 regular size rings
