Default Heating pipes and insulating basement walls

Ok, so I watched the episode showing how to insulate and fur out basement walls. (won't let me post the link)

After watching it, I have two questions:
1> Is this strong enough to hold cabinets if I wanted to hang something like that from the finished wall?

2> I have forced hot water heating. The pipes for the upstairs run along the outside walls in the basement ceiling. If I were to insulate and drywall these walls, then I would no longer have access to those pipes. It seems like a bad idea to trap those pipes where they are not accessible (God forbid, one leak and need repair). Any thoughts here?

ok, I guess a third question would be about the spring spikes (rawl spikes). I can't seem to find a place selling them in 4" lengths.... anyone know of a source?
