Howdy, I am installing on the first floor 8' ceilings in my 105 year old grand home. The rooms currantly have 10" ceilings.
I plan on adding insullation R22 to 38 have not decieded yet. Been reading about insullation and how air is not a good transferer of heat. So i am wondering if i shoul also add insulation to the floor joist cavitiy of the old ceiling too or if there will be any conduction of heat threw the second story wood floor into the cavity i am creating? Now this is a great question assuming there is no air infiltration from the new ceiling and or the walls....
