    Default Hanging heavy frames question

I'm having what's probably a basic issue. I have two large, heavy frames weighing in around 10-12 pounds each that I need to hang.

The hanging hardware is 24" apart on the frames.

I found the studs on my wall, they're 12 inches apart, each roughly 3 inches wide, meaning the center is 15 inches apart. This means I can hang each picture on one stud, but not on two.

Any suggestions on how I can hang these safely? They aren't wire hangs, they are D ring shaped.

    Thanks!

If you can't move the hanging hardware on the frames so they hit two studs, you can use wall anchors in the drywall. Get heavy duty ones, some are rated up to 50lbs so you should have no problem with a 10lb frame as long as the drywall is in good shape and not damaged in anyway. You can put one screw in a stud and use the wall anchor for the other hanger.

Thanks for the direction Sabo. I'm off to Big Orange to pick up some wall anchors and get these frames hung!
