    Default very cold waik-in closet

taken part of porch to make a walk-in closet for bedroom. in the winter it's like a walk-in freezer. can a bathroom ceiling heater be used to warm up? ceiling is 10' high. no shelves close to ceiling.

Generally speaking, you can not use any device in a closet that could potentially ignite clothing. You might get away with an oil filled radiator or base board.

Do you have any insulation on the exterior wall of the closet?
    How is the wall finished?

two of the outside walls are insulated. the third wall is on the inside of a closed-in porch. it is not insulated. our house is off the ground on pillars. we've tried different ways to block the air. nothing seems to work.

It's hard to know what you have out there, but I think you get cold air coming in multiple places. You need to re-evaluate your construction and insulation to improve your situation, then make the proper modifications.
