    Default Sewer gas in kitchen

My house is only ten years old. If I run water into a 2 quart pot then empty it into the kitchen sink, either side, I get the methane sewer gas smell. I seldom use my dishwasher but use my sink daily. The plumbing set up is standard with no changes and all seems in place and in order.

Clean or replace your trap under the sink, make sure the water drains promptly and your vent is free and clear of leaves and debris.
