    Default Finding local codes

    Where do i find local building codes for my area? I am finishing a basement and attic and want to make sure i pass the inspection. Is there a place ****** or a book i can get?

    Howdy, consider contacting you local city/ county building department. They have code requirements that may be quite detailed or not depending on where you live.

    As stated above, check with your local building dept. All code standards are local. It is a good idea to consult with the building dept before you start and ask for their recommendations. You'll usually find them easier to work with if you let them think they have the lead.
