    Smile refurbishing a farm table

I have an old light wood farm table. Recently it has become very sticky to the touch...placemats and papers literally stick to the table. In the past it was cleaned with either Pledge or just plain water.
Is there a way to get rid of the stickiness? Should I sand it and refinish, but I fear ruining the
    lovely color. Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

I suspect a waxy build-up due to the Pledge is the culprit. Try wiping down the table with mineral spirits. You can also use "oooo" steelwool to loosen the build-up.
