    Default Mold Remediation

    Hi,

We have sump pumps that have alieviated the standing water issue in our basement. The next step is to deal with any residual mold.

Does anyone have recommendations for most effective and non-toxic spray treatments that are offered to kill the mold? We live in New Hampshire is that helps

    Thanks,

    KGM

check your local yellow pages for mold remediation companys, or fire and water damage restoration companys.

as for a spray that can help check any bigbox store they should have it
fire up the saw and make some dust

The old standby is bleach, but it has no lingering value. A compound of 60% borax and 40% boric acid mixed in water at 1.5 lbs/gallon will keep mold at bay, but it is water soluble and if more running water gets in, it will be washed away. You can increase the effectiveness of this sodium borate solution by mixing it with antifreeze (ethylene glycol) and water at a 1:2 ratio instead of plane water. It also sends termites and ants packing.
