Question what can be done to repair a concrete slab

Hi- we recently bought some land with a burnt down house and garage we had razed last month. The garage slab was savable in good condition, other than a few places where there are rather deeply pitted spots, going down maybe about an inch at most. It is thought that maybe the previous owners were welding in that area, and got messy(?). We are building a 26'X28' garage on the existing slab. Much of the slab we have gotten cleaned off, but does anyone have advice on how we can repair those damaged areas successfully? Some areas may be approx 2'X2 1/2 feet to need repairs. They are pitted pretty bad. Thankyou
