    Default blowen Inulation (Dams)

In the attic I'm going to use blowen insulation, I found the top plate then there is the soffit, now this might be a foolish question but does the dam go on the outside of the top plate so it is full insulated or before the top plate. I think it is after, just need to confirm. Thanks Hamm8

Is your attic vented from the soffit to a ridge vent? If so then make sure you have the ventilation baffles in each rafter bay between the soffit and ventilated attic space.

I would put the dams on the outside so the plate is insulated. If you don't you might end up with condensation on the drywall corners in the heated space. The plate will thermally bridge the cold to the drywall if it isn't insulated.
