    Default Interior Door Styles

    Hello all!

I need advice: we are doing upgrades to our 1976 bungalow. We are installing new maple hardwood floors and changing the bedroom doors and trim from the brown plywood type to new white ones. My question is this: which style door is more 'formal'? 4 panel or 2 panel?

Our house style is not upscale, just a small family home. I like both styles but don't want to put something in that won't match the tone of the house, which is pretty casual.

    Any help/advise is greatly appreciated!!

2 panel is more modern, i usually install these on higher end custom homes with a stepped casing that matches the profile of the panel

4 panel is bordering on the standard 800 series doors by masonite which is a 6 panel door. very generic looking and can be bought dirt cheap anywhere
fire up the saw and make some dust
