    Default Gas Lampost

We have a gas lampost in our front yard. We have to light it with a match to have it work(at least that is what we were told, we have never done this). This seems sortof unsafe to me. Is there anyway that we can convert this to an electric lampost or are there newer gas models that have built in safty features and are easier to light?

Outdoor gas lamps are very popular and the new generation of lights pose no danger. Electronic ignition is offered on many of them. You will need to shop around, but they are not difficult to find, just google "gas lamp post".
