    Default Wrought Iron gate

My gate sticks at times. Today, and for the past month or so, it has been in the 100 degree temperatures in my locale. Does that effect the clearance my gate has to close/open properly? The gate is mounted in a red brick style fencing structure and it is a very heavy wrought iron.

Metal expands when heated so it could be the cause of your problem. For a test you can try watering down the gate and see if it opens easier.

Let me add to Jack's idea:

    How wide is the gate?

Is the gate sagging at all?
