Default Vent exhaust fan in shower area

I would like to install a shower vent fan in my shower area. I have a drywall ceiling and a light in the center of the ceiling. Is this difficult to do? What type of vent fan should be used.

    Luckily, it's not very hard.

You already have electrical supply. You will need to cut the drywall ceiling a bit to allow the fixture you choose to go in. You will need to frame for it, so it sits securely. lastly, you will need to run a vent to the outside, ideally through the roof.

Then simply finish the drywall and seal the roof around your vent.

There are many models to choose from. Just go to the big box store to compare. Find the right one for your bathroom size and desired noise level.

Make sure you're comfortable working with electric, framing, venting and roofing to avoid a disaster.

    Wally,

Don't start this project until you know exactly how you will run the duct work. Running the duct may become a very frustrating experience. It's all about the layout and run.

Panasonic offer some quality fans that are quiet. Want cheaper & louder, go to big box.

    Good luck
