Avoiding a 1940 Bathroom Renovation/ Toilet and Tile
I need your advice...
Our house was finished in 1940 and the master bathroom still has the original tile and fixtures. The original owners of our house were an old Atlanta family in the decorating business and installed some very cool/cutting edge tile and fixtures in our master bathroom – they are super cool. Everything except but the toilet is in remarkable shape. The toilet is a yellow (410) Crane-Siwelco. Honestly, it would be great to replace the whole toilet, but I cannot find a 14-inch rough-in that is not a industrial-looking white nightmare. Yellow is a must. Does anyone have parts from a remodel…or know of a place that I can replace the back lid and toilet seat? Any ideas are welcome. Ripping up this classic tile would be criminal and I am told that going from a 14-inch to a 12-inch rough in will likely destroy the floor tile around the toilet.
Thanks in advance,
Jill from Morningside
