Default Man made lapsiding on garage

My garage has some type of man made siding that looks like wood. One of the boards has come loose at the seem where it joins the the adjacent board. That is when I discovered it was not real wood.I nailed the board back and now wish to paint the entire garage.Other than scraping any flaking paint is there any thing else I should do to paint?

    1. Wash it down with a brush and hose or CAREFULLY with a pressure washer. Allow to thoroughly dry.
    2. Sc**** any loose paint and caulking
    3. Recaulk
    4. Apply two coats of primer - Primer is not always necessary, but it never hurts either. It acts as a bonding agent for the paint and you'll get better coverage and "hide" capabilities from the paint.
    5. Apply two coats of paint.
I suffer from CDO ... Its like OCD, but in alphabetical order, LIKE IT SHOULD BE!!!
