    Default New bath fan..

Am installing a new bath fan in a bathroom that's never had one.I do have a number of existing roof vents.Would it be alright to run duct to existing vent?As always..would appreciate any insight..(located in Washington State.)

It depends upon code in your fair city.

The concept to operate from is very straight forward - You don't want to be pumping humid hot air into your attic. That in mind, think about the wind blowing outside your house. Is there a possibility the wind can blow backwards down one of these old openings? If yes, then the moist air from the bath will not be properly vented.

Ideally you want a separate, one way vent to the outside.

A bathroom vent is different than other vents, and therefore should go from the fan unit to the outside, not into another vent.
