    Question old lamp post

I'm trying to repair a lamp post light for a neighbor that has an old 4" post. The globe blew off in a storm and so far I haven't been able to find a replacement globe or a new light that will fit on the existing 4" post. Would prefer not to have to replace the post.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

I assume you need a smaller diameter post?

I would enlist the help of either a sheetmetal shop that does custom fabrication or a small machine shop.

A supplier who specializes in lighting, specifically outdoor and post lamps, may have the ability to order an adapter for you.

It may be possible to purchase a new fixture and use it to rebuild the old lamp.
I suffer from CDO ... Its like OCD, but in alphabetical order, LIKE IT SHOULD BE!!!

MNDIY, Have you considered dropping a 3" pipe down the 4" post and filling the space with "soupy" mortar mix.

You can then mount a standard 3" fixture on it.

Turn the breaker off and be careful not to damage the wire!

Not as pretty as a new 3" but less work.

    Good Luck from Wilsonville, Alabama
