    Default Shower surround repair

The towel bar in our shower surround broke off and now we have a hole on one side of the shower surround. Is there a way to repair the hole? Repair kits such as "Elmer's Tub & Shower Repair Kit" are for cracks and scratches; not sure if this would work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Question:
Was the towel bar mounted on drywall or tile?

I think he is talking about a fiberglass shower.

We'll need to know the surface material and what the towel bar is made of as well.

If this is one of the thin cheap plastic surrounds, replacement of the surround is the best option- and this time get something better. I renovate some rentals and this is the most common failure I find. Generally speaking, plastic repairs don't do too well and fiberglass repair means refinishing the surface. I do all I can to talk people out of surrounds with towel bars because sooner or later someone will slip and grab them- and they aren't meant for that kind of service.
