    Default Installing stacked stone

I have a cement wall which I applied dryloc paint. I want to put up stacked stone. I was told that I first need to rough up the wall with a steel brush before installing. Also told that I would not need cement board. Would I be o.k. or is there other preparations needed?

Since drylock has some cement in it, I would think a quality thinset would stick to it. A test area would be a good idea. I'd recommend Laticrete 4XLT as my thinset of choice, if not then Laticrete 255.
