Desperately need some suggestions on how to deal a mid-60s house with those white 9 x 9 ceiling tiles. In addition to being "ugly", many are sagging, uneven and discolored. But we don't want to pull down the entire ceiling because there's a good chance these tiles contain asbestos and removing an entire ceiling is work and expensive. One suggestion was to just paint over them and at least the stains will be gone. Another suggestion is to "cover" them with sheet rock, or tin, or bead board. What are some other possible options here, beside hiring professional remediation service.
