poorly placed flower bed against house, dig out and fill?
I have a flower bed about 5 feet long against my house and into the driveway, depth unknown. I had a damp basement, but caulked along the edge of the driveway and that really helped. I, however, cannot caulk dirt! I'd like to dig this stupidly placed flower bed out and fill it - but with what? Just concrete? The drive is asphalt, but I really don't care about the appearance, just a very dry basement. Any thoughts? Experiences? I'd like a green solution, but again, really just wanting a dry basement.

Concrete is your best bet. You can always paint your concrete green or with garage floor paint...
