    Question Need to ID type of wood used on deck

    I have 2 board that I need to replace on my deck. The follwing code is on the back: TP Premium KD 19 200 R.E.D 8-BRY SYP

    TP Timber Products, Inc

    KD 19 Kiln dried to 19%

    200 R.E.D. Not sure what it means

    8-BRY (Not sure what it means

    SYP (Southern Yellow Pine) I think?

    Any ideas?

    TP = accredited inspenction agency -- in this case Timber Products Inc.

    KD19 = kiln dried to 19%

    2 = lumber grade -- in this case the lumber is grade no.2

    00 = mill number

    R.E.D = radial edge -- commonly used for decking surface

    SYP = species of lumber -- in this case Southern Yellow Pine

    8 = perhaps 8 ft length ( not sure )

    BRY = not sure
