I need some help with bumping pipes. Our house in Houston TX was built in 1977 and was plumbed with galvenized steel pipe. Over the years they have rusted through and due to several leaks, I had the pipes in the attic recently replaced with PEX pipe. I have a whole house filter plumbed into the water on the exterior of the house. After the replacement of the pipes, every time I turn the water on and off, we get a bump bump in the pipes. I have discussed with the plumbing company and they believe it is the filter. When bypassing the filter it does stop, but that is not an option due to the amount of disolved solids in the water. Can anything be done?
