    Question Metal Roof Condensation

I have a wood cabin with a metal roof and a covered porch front and rear. The front and rear porch is just wood( 2x4's and 1x6's) with metal roof attached to it. The problem is that condensation leaks onto the floor each day. I plan on enclosing the front and rear porch but do not know how to deal with the condensation from the metal roof! I need to know what to do with the condensation so I can enclose the porch and not have to worry about water dripping down. Can anyone either give me a solution to the problem or tell me who to see about it. Thanks.

    Default Re: Metal Roof Condensation

Metal roofs will condensate in the winter time due to temperature variations in the air on either side of the metal. You are lucky to just have this problem on your porches and not inside also. Insulation and airflow can solve this problem indoors, but I do not know how to solve it in an outdoor porch area except to install sheathing and a good roofing underlayment beneath the metal roof.
