    Default Protect from Sun fading

I have a steel exterior door that is exposed to morning direct sunlight. It is painted Barn RED and requires repainting about every year, or so, because it fades to a PINK color by the end of the summer season. I use Laxtex enamel exterior paint. Is there any protective coating or other paint that I can use to keep the paint from fading?
    Thank you.

Howdy, consider painting a clear coat sealer over the red paint. You will need to have the paint company sell you ones that are compatable and ask for uv resistant clear coat. This will last allot longer.

Red paint is notorious for fading, although a year of service seems poor. I would try a different paint. Ask a paint store what they recommend.
